Haleakala Mindfulness Hike

HALEAKALA GUIDED MINDFULNESS HIKE: We will meet at the Halemau’u trailhead for an introduction to mindfulness. Then we will proceed walking 1 mile down, in mindfulness practice, to a vista point at the edge of the crater with spectacular views. There, we will remain in a guided mindfulness practice seated at the edge of the crater for 20 minutes followed by a brief discussion and Q&A. The hike back up is medium-strenuous, all uphill, making a 400′ elevation change in 1 mile. From the parking lot, please allow 1.5 – 2 hours for the tour. Participants must be reasonably fit. Please wear sturdy hiking shoes, hat, sunscreen, warm, layered clothes for changing weather, and bring a water bottle. Rain gear is recommended, and we will be sitting directly on the Earth, so please bring a small cushion or towel to sit on. $225 includes up to two guests. Please add an additional $25 for each additional guest. Hikes will be canceled in case of inclement weather.

My Hatha Yoga classes are drawn from the Iyengar, Vinyasa, and Kundalini traditions and provide a supportive environment for beginners, the flexibility challenged and for those who wish to enhance an existing yoga practice. Students learn interdisciplinary yoga techniques to relieve stress, improve health and increase well-being. Classes are both gentle yet strengthening. Each class will focus on breath awareness techniques in combination with alignment tips for learning and improving the effectiveness of each posture.
